With intimacy and views likes this, it not hard to understand why Sara Linda and Justin passed by the idea of a large wedding in favor of a Yosemite elopement. Things could not have come together more perfectly for them. Yosemite valley was warm the day that they were married, the waterfalls seemed to overflow, and new life was springing up all over the park.
Although the day started much earlier for Sara Linda and Justin (Carol from Bellissimo worked her magic with Sara Linda earlier) I met them for the first time just before their wedding ceremony. They had a simple ceremony in a clearing along the edge of the Merced River. It was just the two of them and the waterfalls; allowing them to be completely honest and open with each other as they promised their love. Moments after the ceremony Sara Linda even remarked to me how they were able to completely focus on each other; that’s what a wedding is all about.
With the ceremony completed, the three of us jumped in my car and wandered around Yosemite together. We went from open valleys, to mountain top views, and back down into groves of trees. Looks of shared amazement and joy filled their faces; amazement at the landscape in front of them and joy because they got to share the experience together. Not at all a bad way to celebrate your marriage.
The wedding seemed to fit Sara Linda and Justin perfectly. Stripping everything away from their wedding allowed them to slow down and enjoy every moment of the day; to relax and enjoy the beauty of Yosemite together. You can see it in their faces. I love the eagerness and excitement in Sara Linda’s eyes and the tenderness in the way Justin holds her. The pure thrill of life to come is written all over them and in their every action.Hair and Makeup: Bellissimo Officiant: Rev. Autrey Nassar Photography: Patrick Pike Studios
