Not every couple waits until the walk down the aisle to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. In fact, the majority of my clients see each other long before the ceremony in a private moment for themselves commonly called a First Look. Emotions flow and love is poured out as husband and wife see each other for the first time. Normally it is up to me to chose the perfect location, which in Yosemite often is a secluded place in the midst of trees, which is exactly what I did for Sarah and Kayvan’s wedding. But sometimes things don’t always go as planned.
Kayvan was set to be waiting for his bride to arrive for this private moment in their wedding day in the spot that I had picked out. I would be walking through the Ahwahnee with Sarah to meet him for their first look. I held a door open for Sarah and a few rubber necking tourists on our way to meet him, when it suddenly dawned on my why they were rubber necking. It wasn’t just that Sarah was a stunning bride. It was a whole lot more.
Standing just inside of that door, in exactly the wrong place and with his jaw dropped open was Kayvan. Right in the middle of the hotel lobby with tourists taking inspiration, this bride and groom saw each other for the first time. They embraced as tears of joy began to flow and they focused only on each other. It was the perfect first look.
